Port St. Lucie is a city that has grown quickly over the past two decades, built around planned communities like Tradition and St. Lucie West; Fort Pierce keeps a historic downtown and a working waterfront on the Indian River Lagoon. Hutchinson Island's beaches are a short drive from either. It's about an hour north of West Palm Beach on I-95 or the Turnpike.
Getting around
I-95 and Florida's Turnpike run north–south through the county; Palm Beach International is the nearest major airport, with Orlando and Fort Lauderdale within driving range.
